Clean Vibes' Trading Post

Win a Free Ride for 2 to Bonnaroo 2011!

Clean Vibes is a company formed and dedicated to the responsible waste and recycling management of outdoor festivals and events. Clean Vibes has been a part of all of the previous Bonnaroo festivals, handling the trash and recycling management for each event. Over the past eight years, Clean Vibes has diverted over 2 million pounds of recyclable and compostable material produced at the festival from the landfill.

This year welcomes back the Clean Vibes' Trading Post. An adaptation of the annual recycling raffle, the Trading Post will accept cans and bottles that can be redeemed for immediate rewards. The cans and bottles become a currency of sort, and the more recycling you collect, the more valuable items you can "purchase." Bring your cans and bottles to any of the Campground Pods or to the Trading Post in Planet Roo, and "cash them in."

Depending on the number of cans and bottles you turn in, you will receive a certain number of point vouchers. Bring your vouchers to the Clean Vibes' Trading Post in Planet Roo and trade them in for your choice of a variety of green gifts - from earth friendly health and beauty products and organic clothing to autographed band merchandise and food vendor vouchers.  Cash them in for small stuff or keep collecting points throughout the weekend to “purchase” something big! The person who trades in the most recycling throughout the weekend will receive 2 tickets to next year’s event!

Pre-Roo Packing / Travel-Tips

Here are a few easy ways for you to leave the smallest “Bonnaroo Footprint” possible:

Carpool - The less stuff you stack, the more people you can pack!
Buy water in bulk and bring reusable bottles.
Buy food in bulk.  Avoid bringing food that spoils easily and/or is individually wrapped.  Plan ahead and only bring the amount of food you need so you do not waste a lot of excess food.
Think reusable before you buy disposable!
Bring bags for garbage AND recycling.
Avoid styrofoam coolers.
Smokers - bring an ashtray! Every butt you throw on the ground has to be picked up by someone.
Consider borrowing camping equipment before buying new (tent, cooler, tarp, grill, etc.).
If you have to buy new, then reuse or recycle the box before you arrive on site.
Avoid bringing unnecessary items that become pesky waste (sequins, silly string, confetti, balloons, packing peanuts, etc.).
