The Black Crowes

The Black Crowes
From the beginning, when they roared out of the gate with their multi-platinum debut album SHAKE YOUR MONEYMAKER in 1990, THE BLACK CROWES have played by their own rules.  They’ve pissed off detractors, gone against the grain and formed an intimate connection with their audience, while maintaining their independence and creative freedom from standard industry practices.  This has earned them the title of The Most Rock ‘N Roll Rock ‘N Roll Band In The World.
Brothers CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON have never veered from their mission of creating rock and roll that is fierce and genuine, with a sound that doesn’t conform to easy categorization.  You can hear it in their six studio albums and in their panoramic live shows.
Having racked up worldwide album sales exceeding 19 million, THE BLACK CROWES performed over 2000 shows between 1990 and 2001.  Their gigs became legendary for set lists which changed every night and signature incendiary musical explorations.  THE BLACK CROWES are one of the few contemporary bands who have also shared the stage with Jimmy Page, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, AC/DC, The Who, Neil Young, The Grateful Dead and many other legendary artists.
At their final performance on October 31, 2001, THE BLACK CROWES announced a hiatus, leaving CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON free to record solo albums.  Last summer, rumors about THE BLACK CROWES taking flight again began when their long-dormant website (www.blackcrowes.com) suddenly became animated, showing two “Crowe” heads facing each other as audio clips of the band’s music played.  Instantly, message boards on the Internet began buzzing.
After months of speculation, on January 11, 2005, THE BLACK CROWES announced their highly anticipated and long-awaited return to the live concert stage with five special shows--billed by CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON as “ALL JOIN HANDS”--at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.  Tickets for all five of these special concerts at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom (March 22, 23, 25, 26, 27) sold out just minutes after going on sale to the public.
Because of this tremendous outpouring of fan support--the five-night Hammerstein run represented the fastest New York sell-out that the band have experienced to date--THE BLACK CROWES then announced two additional Hammerstein shows on March 29 and 30.
As a result of this success and overwhelming demand, THE BLACK CROWES then were asked to join the main stage on two of the most prestigious festivals in America: Bonnaroo and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
All this, before a single note has even been played by THE BLACK CROWES in 2005.
