Bonnaroo Carbon Shredders

Shred Hard Walk Lightly...

Hey Bonnaroo Carbon Shredders!
Check out our new video here!

We are the Bonnaroo Carbon Shredders.  You hung with us at our booth, stepped in some green paint, and signed a pledge to reduce your Carbon Footprint 10% by Bonnaroo 2009. This is a huge deal and the more folks we can engage in this 10% quest, the greater the impact to Global Warming.

Our goal is to get 80,000 people to each reduce their C02 footprint and energy use by 10% by 2009 Bonnaroo. That will mean approximately 400 MILLION pounds of C02 kept out of the atmosphere each year, and up to $80 MILLION in collective savings on energy costs! There is no reason we cannot achieve this goal.

So, you’ve made the pledge – YEAH!  We have four ways to get you shredding that will save most people more than $1000 per year on energy costs.  Real green!

First:  Sign up on the Bonnaroo “Do Your Part” page, to participate follow these three easy steps:

Step 1: Join up! Click “Join” and join the Bonnaroo Carbon Shredders group and enter the rest of your basic information.

Step 2: Calculate your carbon footprint and pledge to take basic actions such as deciding to carpool, purchase green power, or step up their recycling effort.

Step 3: Review your data and profile and see how your pledges helped the Bonnaroo community meet our goal.

To join and learn takes only 5 minutes!  You NOW have a starting point!

Second: Go on a carbon cutting program.  Many people are using the book The Low Carbon Diet by David Gershon. Click here to buy the book. It gives the step-by-step program on what you can do to reduce your footprint, and to how to engage others at home, school and work.  Once you’ve seen how you can reduce your energy costs and C02 in your life, getting other folks to work together is a great next step.  Most people actually reduce their footprint by 20% in 6 months. In one Shredder home, they were able to reduce the power bill by $1200 per year and their heating bill by $2000 per year by doing this exercise!

Third: Keep checking out the discussion board to see how we’re doing as a group. Watch the videos, get shredder hints and, most importantly, share your stories. Talk to us!

Forth and most critical:  If you’re not having fun with the program, forget it! This is all about changing for the good—making the world a better place. And it’s got to be FUN!

Got it?

First:  Do your carbon calculation and track your progress on the Do Your Part Tracker.

Second: Shred some Carbon

Third: Keep the rap with us going all year round on the Bonnaroo Carbon Shredder page right here!

Fourth: HAVE FUN!...

Thanks Guys…
