So the exhaustion is starting to set in, but you all know what Day 3 of a festival feels like… We’re not looking for any sympathy! Let’s dig back in with the bands and shenanigans that’ve been running through The Hoodie Shop all week for CMJ. Videos of performances and interviews coming soon!
1:15PM Deap Vally
California valley girl rockers swung through the Hoodie Shop, tried on the gear and plugged some girl power in their interview. Once you give their music a listen, you’ll know that they back the talk up with some serious balls out riffage and attitude. They’re about to tour with The Vaccines and Muse too.
2:41PM The Last Bison
Hootenanny! This chamber folk band formed in the family living room and around bonfire parties, so our little Hoodie Shop setup immediately transformed into a cozy, rustic holler upon their arrival. Comparisons run in the Fleet Foxes/Mumford & Sons zone so its well worth a listen.
3:50PM Team Spirit
Brooklyn garage rockers Team Spirit moved things into full on rock n’ roll territory with tunes off of their self-titled EP. We’re psyched to send ‘em out on the road with the Bonnaroo365 Tour kicking off later this month!
Quirky pop is the way these Brooklynites do it. They’ve been busy as hell all week jumping from show to show all over NYC so we were glad to have them in The Hoodie Shop to play a couple of songs and have a lovely chat.
6:24PM Sea Wolf
We had the chance to debut a video this week for Sea Wolf’s “Miracle Cure” (see below) so it was great to meet up and hear tunes from these guys last night. With strong, full acoustic strums and lyrics that recall the sights and sounds of the San Francisco Bay Area, this music showcases modern day songwriting at its best.
After wrapping the sessions at The Hoodie Shop for the day, we headed to Pianos right down the street for UK electro art rockers Duologue, some avant dreamy psych pop from New Zealand’s Opossum (so good!) and then there was this…
Great music and strange times! On to Day 4!
