Updated: Wednesday 4/24/13:
When we say we are listening, it means we are listening, and here is what we heard: You did not like our new tent-only camping policy. No, you didn’t like it at all.
We’re going back to the original policy: However you arrive at Bonnaroo (whether by foot or car), you may camp in the Tent Only area.
As always, it’s first-come, first-served. If you come by car and arrive during really busy entry times, keep in mind that you might not be able to immediately access Tent Only camping.
We’re always thinking and tweaking and changing Bonnaroo, trying to make it easier to arrive and more fun to attend. We depend on your feedback, so keep those cards and letters coming. Please use our Bonnaroo feedback address—we check it all the time: email@example.com
Tent Only Camping – New Entry On Foot Only Policy
This year this camping option is only available if you don’t arrive with a car — i.e., on foot, by bus or parachute. No cars, motorcycles, jetpacks, hovercraft, no form of transportation other than your feet, in fact, all vehicles will be towed. We repeat: You must enter on foot in order to qualify for tent only camping this year!
Here’s how it works: You arrive on foot through the West Tollbooth and enter through the far most right lane — This is the shortest walk to Tent Only Camping. Arriving through the Interstate tollbooth on foot would be dangerous. Get your wristband validated by the tollbooth staff and tell them you want to camp in Tent Only Camping, then just follow the map you receive when at the Tollbooths to Tent Only Camping and hoof it with your gear to set up camp! It’s a short enough distance, but pack light for optimal hoofing speed – a backpack or small luggage cart might help.
The space for Tent Only Camping is limited, and will be filled first-come, first-served — so if you want this prime spot, we recommend you get here when the gates open at 8pm on Wednesday! If you’re last-come, no worries. If you arrive on foot once the Tent Only Camping area has filled (estimated to fill up by the end of Wednesday) the tollbooth attendants will direct you in line to where the parking staff is currently placing campers.
