WE’RE ON A MISSION
Somewhere near the top of our to-do list is “change the world.” So, in 2009, we created the Bonnaroo Works Fund, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, administered by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The Bonnaroo Works Fund supports regional and national organizations with a mission of making communities healthy in areas of the arts, education, and environmental sustainability; with the goal of local reinvestment and asset building for the communities in which we live, work and play.
WHAT WE SUPPORT AND WHERE
We devote a lot of attention to middle Tennessee and, in particular, Manchester and Coffee County communities. We support educational, arts and environmental programs as well as a variety of community projects – having provided support for more than 100 organizations. Some of the national organizations that have received BWF support include: Head Count, MusiCares, Rock the Earth, First Book, Music For Relief and Notes for Notes. A complete list of organizations that have received support is available here!
HOW YOU ARE HELPING & HOW YOU CAN HELP MORE!
And we don’t deserve all the credit. A good share of the money comes from generous fans who help support the Fund through ticket add-ons, the annual Silent Auction, and other BWF fundraising efforts. There will be many new opportunities for you to support Bonnaroo Works Fund in 2017! In case you’re wondering, a full 100% of every dollar you contribute goes directly to support these great causes.
And, if you’d like to get physcally involved with some of the great causes supported by the Bonnaroo Works Fund, we’re going to make that easy, too. Look for our quarterly Newsletter posted on our website.
Bonnaroo also invites local community organizations to raise funds by participating as volunteers at the popular concession booths. Bonnaroo donates a portion of the sales from the concessions to the organizations who have staffed the booths. More than $2 million has been raised in the past decade to support Coffee County Rescue Squad, Children’s Advocacy Center, Project Graduation, Hands On Science Center, Manchester Arts Center, Park Partners, Keep Coffee County Beautiful and numerous other groups. By volunteering, these devoted do-gooders also help create a better Bonnaroo, so be sure to give them a thumbs-up at the festival 👍
We are enormously proud of the Bonnaroo Works Fund. Who says music – and music fans – can’t change the world?
Bonnaroo Works Fund Ambassador: Margo Price
Margo Price, the 2017 BWF Ambassador, is helping to spread the news about the good works that Bonnaroo Works does to advance arts, education and environmental causes. One of the most authentic voices of country music now or ever, Margo brings a sweet, stark truth to every word she sings — a new voice in an old soul. Follow her lead and show support for the BWF!
“It’s truly an honor to be the 2017 Bonnaroo Work Funds Program Ambassador! Now, more than ever, we need to protect and invest in non profit organizations that support the arts, education and our environment right here in Middle Tennessee.”
